Last Night Of The Proms tickets are on sale

Peterborough has tickets for a Last Night Of The Proms concert are still on sale now.

The event which taking place at the Key Theatre, in Embankment, Peterborough on 17th April on 7pm.

Mayor of Peterborough Councillor Keith faster your Diabetes UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and Peterborough War Memorial Fund selected charities, aid Peterborough branch will host the concert.

Councillor Sharp said: “This event has become a highlight of the mayoral calendar and many of the residents I meet tell me how much they look forward to it.

Last Night of the Proms Enjoys 21 Years of Talent

21 years of Last Night of the Proms soloists has been celebrated.The 2011 concert theme, 'Celebrating 21 years of talent', fits with the 21st birthday of this popular LifeLine Johannesburg fundraising event.

Exciting new talent this year is the winner of South Africa’s Got Talent, James Bhemgee (Tenor) who, along with Filipa van Eck (Soprano), will be the 2011 soloists.

Last Night of the Proms has a well-deserved reputation of being a not-to-be missed musical jamboree of distinction that champions new music, composers and South African artists. The concert is conducted by the charismatic Richard Cock; “this year’s musical programme contains an eclectic mix of modern pieces and classical music (including the traditional favourites: Pomp and Circumstance March No 1, Jerusalem and the Hallelujah Chorus),” said Cock.

Last Night of the Proms is a characteristic and memorable occasion for corporate hospitality. Corporate packages are available, including concert tickets and invitations to the 21st birthday celebration on 28 May.

Army band will perform at Last Night Of The Proms

Castle Point Mayor, Councillor David Cross, is holding national dance and song ‘Last Night of the Proms’ in the Salvation Army Temple on Saturday.

The Hadleigh Salvation Army Band will perform at the Last Night Of The Proms favourites with flags, hooters and patriotic flags available at the fundraiser.

At the Mayor's Charity will raised the money.

Last Night Of The Proms concert began at 7pm with doors open 6.30pm.

Tickets are available to go on sale at £8 each and are available.

Caerphilly will be main part of the Last Night of The Proms

Caerphilly will be main part of the Last Night of The Proms in September after becoming part of the national program for the city to a place has been selected.

Last few years it has been held in Swansea, but this year will be David Williams Park, Caerphilly Castle Keep ignored.

Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council Cllr Lindsay Whittle said: "We are honoured to get the opportunity to host this prestigious event, which has become a major fixture in the Welsh musical calendar. The last night of the Proms is such a special occasion and the musical entertainment that will be on offer on September 10 will be in perfect harmony with Caerphilly's magnificent medieval castle providing a breathtaking backdrop for the performance."

The responsible for spearheading the move to the town are Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Countryside, Cllr Ron Davies, said: "We're delighted to have been asked by BBC Cymru Wales to host the concert. We will make sure everyone involved receives a warm welcome from Caerphilly. We look forward to working closely together in order to ensure this wonderful event continues to give the very best musical experience for the people of Wales."

BBC Cymru Wales spokeswoman said: "Each year we look at potential locations for a number of key events and we receive keen interest from all across Wales. We have enjoyed many years of close partnership with Swansea Council, but it's time to move on to share some of the magic with new audiences."

Wayne David MP said: "I am absolutely delighted that Proms in the Park is coming to Caerphilly. The Castle is one of the largest in Europe and it will provide a beautiful and spectacular backdrop for the Proms. As the MP for Caerphilly I am really pleased, especially as I am an amateur oboist myself. Who knows I may get the chance to play my oboe at the Proms."

After a successful crowd-puller in Belgium, Germany and France, now the annual Night Of The Proms will make its Danish debut at Arena Nord in Frederikshaven April 2.

Pensioners’ party in Kirton

Having a profit of more than £500 from its Last Night of the Proms concert,The event was organised by Kirton parish councillors and paid for by Kirton Brass Band.

Parish councillors made a cold salad and trifles and invited all the older generation from across the parish so they can enjoy.

Villager Carol Meeds made the meal which was followed by mince pies.Carol Meeds, who baked a mammoth batch of 150 of the festive treats because she wanted to give something back to the village.

Parish councillor Taina Welberry said: “They all had a glass of wine with their dinner and a box of chocolates to take home and a good time was had by all.

“It is real joint effort by the parish council and their families and without everyone’s efforts it wouldn’t have been possible.
